Microsoft Bing “Decision Engine”

Filed under: Microsoft — soap @ 9:20 am

Looks interesting, IMHO: Microsoft has come out with a better product than Google, but only if it delivers consistent result. Google Results have always been spammed and easily manipulated. lets hope Bing does a better job at preventing

Its strong point is saving time and delivering

The video preview option is also a good. Imagine you can view the video previews even before clicking and opening them.

Google / Chrome Reporting sites as spreading Malware

Filed under: Security and Consulting — soap @ 8:55 am

For the last few weeks, my life has been on a roller coaster ride, trying to make sense of the madness that is spreading in cyber space, where all client websites are being reported as hosting malware.

But the funny part is that the websites / servers referred to by the google reporting pages are not on my server. So basically it can be a false alarm, I have personally sniffed through hundreds of pages, removing all google analytics javascripts, which by the way, also trigger virus warnings in some browsers and antivirus softwares.

The most disturbing among them is the iframe tag malware / spyware / virus, which is causing all kinds of confusion. I have also noticed encrypted javascript being added to client websites which is also triggers malware warnings. The whole thing looks like an episide from Xfiles.

The fact of the matter is the faulty Algorithm and / or malware reporting website from where google is getting their data from, is misleading and casing websites being reported as malware, which Google itself is reporting as clean. Read this or example.

This site is not currently listed as suspicious.
What happened when Google visited this site?
“Of the 251 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 0 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2009-04-27, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2009-04-27.”

but still when we visit the website, it is being reported as being on the same network, which is hosting malware.

My question is.

Why is my website being penalized when it is clean?

I do not have control over other websites, so why am i being penalized?

My life as an IT consultant has been turned into a living nightmare.

Because People trust me to deliver results and I get paid for being proactive and solving problems in their infancy, the old saying “a stitch in time saves nine” goes true for me. My situation is compromised because of issues like this on which I do not have any control, I am desperate for a solution and I appeal to Google to take immediate action and fix this issue before it becomes an epidemic.
